Big update!

So it's almost been a whole month since my last post! Sorry I've been such a fail. Not a lot has happened to be honest because I've come home for three weeks before moving up to Nottingham for good! I'm back in Notts on Wednesday though.

So on the 11th of June it was my university's graduation ball. As I am graduating in 2.5 weeks' time (how specific am I??), I naturally went along. Example and Rudimental performed there so that was fun. I sadly didn't go to the after party for a few reasons and I really wish I had!

Here's a few photos for your enjoyment :)

Four of the housemates together. The boys decided to surprise us by attending as they had told us that they weren't before!

As you can see, I went for the 1950's, pin up look and it was very well received! I bought my dress when it was in the sale too, which was a bonus! I filmed a "Get Ready With Me" video for the makeup, if anyone is interested.

The day after grad ball, I came home for a bit. I've been looking for a job in Nottingham but I've not had any calls back yet so home was a lovely opportunity to get away from all that stress. Charlotte, my sister, and I went to Brighton when I got home and had a lot of fun! The weather was wonderful, although a little too windy to make the most of the beach.

A gorgeous cake from Catwalk Cakes (link to the Twitter page)

We found a knitted Brighton Pavilion! This must have taken a lot of patience!

Then we found the real deal :D (Yes I am wearing a John Barrowman tshirt...)

The gorgeous window of Choccywoccydoodah :) All made from Chocolate!

And we saw Rolf playing the piano!

The final part for now: I tried to dye my hair brown so I could be taken more seriously when I'm looking for a job :P Unfortunately, the coloured part of my hair was too stubborn and didn't want to be covered up, so now my hair is mainly brown with some purple and pink parts! I'll have to do it again at some point but it won't be for a while. I can't afford to damage my hair too much!!

Thank you for reading this long post and I hope that you enjoyed it!

Farewell Uni!

So May has been a hectic month for me as it was the month my dissertation was handed in, the month all my final assignments and presentations were due as well as the exams I had to study for, but it has finally come to an end. I am finished with university now! No more studying or education for the next few years, which is weird because I have been in education non-stop since I was 5-years-old!! I feel a bit at a loose end now. I don't know what to do with myself!

First of all, dissertation hand-in! That was due the 3rd of May and I was actually finished with it way before then so I didn't have a last minute stress, which I definitely predicted for myself.

It was a very interesting topic to research and I absolutely loved writing it. I liked that it was one of my only modules that I was interested in and enjoyed as much as I did because I wasn't so engaged with the other modules I was forced to study. If people are interested in finding out what a typical German is, or "typisch Deutsch" as they say, let me know and I may do a blog post about it :)

This is me just after I handed my dissertation in! Look at the sheer excitement I have on my little face.

Bank holiday Monday, or May Day, followed this celebratory time. In England, May Day is renowned for being rainy and miserable, but this year it was actually incredibly sunny! Who'd have thought? I went to the local park with one of my friends and a group of her friends. We had a picnic and icecream and we played a new card game that I want to say is called Mafia, but I'm not entirely sure. It was a while ago!

That afternoon, my housemates and I had a lovely BBQ! You'd never have guessed that a few days later the weather turned and was cold, wet and unpleasant! The same friend whom I went to the picnic with bought me some daffodils! I won the pot at the choir Christmas party, but I only just got my prize from my friend! She decided to make it more interesting with some gorgeous daffodils, which aren't quite so gorgeous any more!

And finally, I have changed my hair colour once again. I was trying to go for a more acceptable-to-society colour, but my hair is brighter than I thought it would be! Directions Rubine (diluted with conditioner) on top and then Directions Plum (mixed with some violet and diluted with conditioner) on the bottom of my hair.

I have had people telling me frequently that this is their favourite colour-combination, but I always get different people telling me different things about the colour of my hair! I guess it's all about personal preference at the end of the day!

I bought my grad ball dress but you'll have to wait until the event to see that, unless you follow me on Instagram (@HananatheBanana) because I have already posted a photo on there.

I'm off to the boyfriend's in Exeter this afternoon and I'm very excited about it! I still need to pack but it's fine... I have plenty of time!

New hair?

I guess I've not really done much this week to post about! If you're subscribed to me on YouTube (and why aren't you if you're not?? Just kidding :D ), you will see that I have been on a role with posting videos on there at the moment! For those of you who know me, I hate doing university work, so any chance I can, I will find an excuse to procrastinate big time!!

But yeah... This week at uni I have had two assessed presentations. One was for German about low-skilled immigrant workers and the other, which was today, was about whether xenophobia (fear of people from another country) was becoming the norm in France or not. Yeah... compelling, I assure you. Anyway! I've had to do these two bloomin' presentations with tonsillitis! I went to the doctors on Wednesday for some antibiotics or something and the doctor (who was very attractive!) said that because it was viral tonsillitis (yeah my tonsils weren't attractive at all...), he couldn't give me any antibiotics for it! I struggled on through... I wasn't really that ill to be fair but seeing Christine recoil from me after seeing my tonsils made me realise that they can't have looked healthy!

I have recorded two new tea reviews, if you're interested. Both for Twinings tea and I put a sneak-peak at what is to come in the tea review world with my teapigs matcha May post in my last tea review so go and check them out if you'd like!

So at the end of my last entry, I said that I was going to go and colour my hair! And here is my new hair :D

It's a lot of blue, a bit of purple and even less pink. It's just quite fun and very different to what I did with my hair before. I like it!

Then I wanted to do a makeup look to match my hair! This is when I went to the doctors so he probably thought I looked seriously overdressed for someone going to the doctors! Click here for the makeup tutorial!

But that is how uninteresting my life has been this week! I know... So sad isn't it? Hopefully next week will be more exciting. I'll try to remember to take more photos anyway so you have something more to look at apart from my (beautiful :P ) face.

I hope you're all well!

Over a Month??

Hey all!

So it's been over a month since I last wrote a blog post here but I didn't think anything interesting had happened so I have nothing to report! Uni's been very stressful and my time management is horrible so I've been working my bum off on various assignments!

I did have time to record a teapigs tea review video! It's not got many views and no one's left me feedback yet so I don't know whether to keep recording them or just leave it at one video and admit defeat...

I also coloured my hair again. It's purple and pink now, which is pretty aces! The above picture is me dressed up as a Russian aristocrat for a murder mystery party I went to! I actually won by guessing the murderers correctly! The horrendous French accent on the CD was hilarious, especially as some of the people at the party were French too!!

My housemate Christine and I also celebrated the handing in of her 4th assignment in 3 weeks! We couldn't be bothered to mix the amaretto with the coke for each glassful, so the teapot got a different use! And you can't use a teapot without the teacups! We're so classy...

I also sang in a concert! It was called "Last Night of the Spring Proms" and the NTU choir sang with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. We were frequently told that it was a "once in a lifetime opportunity" and we performed a world première of Paul Carr's Ave Maria! He dedicated it to us and was apparently very moved by the performance we gave.

I'll try to be more regular with the blog posts from now on!!

Excuses, excuses...

Heya! I know, I have no excuse for not having posted yet in the month of February and I judge myself highly for it so don't you worry! I do have some excuses though and you'll see in this picture-filled blog just what I've been up to during my absence.

I went to Exeter two weeks ago to visit the boyfriend as I had a week off of uni! It was so lovely to see him again and we had a lovely time together. We went to the Quay in Exeter and I had a cream tea! When in Devon...

That is a cream tea for one... Look at the size of that teapot! It's absolutely massive. Perfect for a tea lover although I did think I was competing in a tea-drinking contest. The weather was gorgeous though which made the quay look so beautiful.

I also rediscovered my love for crochet when I was in Exeter! The boyfriend was on teaching practice all day so I had to entertain myself somehow and who would choose to do uni work? I've made myself a hat and 3 headbands at the moment.

Oh I also changed my hair colour. I bleached my roots as they seriously needed doing, which is why I'm blonde in a picture. It didn't stick around for long though although I did love the blonde! The green I had in my hair before didn't completely come out so I'll have to wait a month until I can rebleach it and hopefully get it completely blonde :)

My main excuse for not updating sooner is because of all the uni work I have to do but I promise to keep on top of it more!

I hope you're all well and had a lovely Valentine's day and Shrove Tuesday!

Moustache pizza?!

I woke up this morning to a news feed on Facebook full of statuses about the weather. I didn't even have to look outside to know what was going on... That's how rare snow is here. We (as a general rule) get far too excited about it, although I am sick of it and I wish I wasn't scared to walk somewhere without falling over! Anyway, we've had more snow here than we did on Monday. It was worse at home ("home" being near Portsmouth) which is ironic as I always thought the "north" had more snow!

My week hasn't been an exciting one. I was ill on Tuesday so had to skip my class, which was annoying. I must have had a stomach bug or something... Definitely not a hangover! Wednesday was also uneventful but I did have choir. I have missed singing a lot. I sang at church over Christmas a fair amount so I feel like I've been deprived a bit!

I have been obsessively watching Daria again on Netflix after my boyfriend told me it was there! I know that it's not going to get my essay written, but I can't help it. It's so addictive. I'm already over halfway through the second series and I only started watching them on Wednesday!

I just love Daria's lack of enthusiasm about everything and her sarcasm truly makes my day! It does make me miss school though because life was so much easier then!

I re-coloured my hair yesterday. I used Directions Atlantic Blue over the colours I already had, which has left the front more purple and the back a greeny-blue. I have included an obligatory tea-drinking photo which shows my hair in terrible light...

Saw the most awesome packaging ever today. French bread pizza. As a concept, not too exciting. Stick a moustache on the packaging and I just had to waste £1.29 on one! It's yet to be eaten... I think I'll treat myself to it tomorrow.

I'm going to get back to the episode of Daria I'm watching, stick on my pyjamas and get into bed. I have a busy weekend doing work! Yaaaaay!
